Friends of Armidale Library (F.O.A.L.) is a community, not for profit organisation, formed in 2002 and committed to
• promoting and supporting the library in the community • supporting library activities that contribute to the welfare of the community • providing resources for the library •advocating on behalf of the library, its users and its staff.
What do Friends of the Armidale War Memorial Library Do? • We hold various events to raise the profile of the Library in the community e.g. the 6 words competition, children’s programs, the Sydney Writers Festival and Sydney Symphony live streaming, author talks and the Annual Remembrance Day talk.
• We raise funds to help provide the library with resources e.g books, audio books, Emagazines, large print books, DVDs and CDs We have purchased a large projection screen system (to stream events like the Sydney Writers Festival), furniture, mural for the children's area and library shelving.
• We provide the sole funding support for the early literacy baby book program at a cost of $5000 p.a. In all, a total of $30, 954.00 since 2012.
• We have advocated with the Council, State and Federal Governments and gained significant community support for our initiatives on behalf of the Library. Please click on the Menu Bar for more information about
